Politician-cum-actor Ravi Kishan has allegedly been duped of Rs 3.25 crore by a Mumbai-based businessman, his public relations officer said on Tuesday.
Ravi Kishan had given the money to accused Jain Jitendra Ramesh in 2012. When nudged to return it, Ramesh allegedly handed him 12 cheques of Rs 34 lakh each.
The actor, also the Lok Sabha MP from here, deposited one of the cheques at an SBI branch here on December 7 last year but it got bounced.

PM Modi To Attend Shinzo Abe’s Funeral Today In Japan
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the state funeral of Japan’s former prime minister Shinzo Abe on Tuesday. Representatives from over 100 countries, including more than 20 heads of states and governments, are expected to attend Abe’s funeral on Tuesday at the Budokan, an indoor sporting facility.
Modi will also hold a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
Abe was shot dead while making a campaign speech three months ago in the southern Japanese city of Nara.
“I will be conveying heartfelt condolences to Prime Minister Kishida and Mrs. Abe on behalf of all Indians. We will continue working to further strengthen India-Japan relations as envisioned by Abe San. @kishida230,” PM Modi said.
At a media briefing, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said Modi will attend the state funeral ceremony at Budokan, followed by a greeting occasion at Akasaka Palace, besides meeting Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Abe’s wife Akie.
Congress Observers To Submit Report On Rajasthan Crisis
Upset over an open rebellion in Rajasthan, Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Monday sought a written report on it from party observers Mallikarjun Kharge and Ajay Maken. The report is likely to be submitted today.
Kharge and Maken, who were sent as observers to Jaipur for a Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting, briefed Gandhi in the evening after their return to Delhi.
They are expected to recommend disciplinary action against those behind the move, including minister Shanti Dhariwal and Rajasthan Congress chief whip Mahesh Joshi.
SBSP Rebel Leaders To Float New Party On Tuesday
Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) rebel leaders have accused party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar of deviating from the core principles of the party and said that they will float a new party on Tuesday. “A ‘mahapanchayat’ has been convened here on Tuesday where a new party will be announced,” former national vice-president of SBSP Mahendra Rajbhar told reporters here.
SBSP workers from all over the state will quit the parent party and will join the new party which will be named ‘Suheldev Swabhiman Party’ after discussing it with the workers, Mahendra Rajbhar said.
About 1,000 workers of the SBSP will join the new party tomorrow, Mahendra Rajbhar said.
