Northern Powergrid said its engineers were working as quickly as possible to restore supplies
A number of homes and businesses are without electricity this morning due to more than 140 power cuts across Hull and East Yorkshire.
Northern Powergrid's online map shows a number of 'unplanned' power cuts in the area. This could be due to high winds ripping across the UK overnight and this morning.
The company says it is working to resolve issues as quickly as possible. As of 8.45am, the map showed there were 148 power cuts across Hull and East Yorkshire.

There were a total of 447 issues across Yorkshire as a whole, as of 8.45am on Friday, January 13. Northern Powergrid said it was working to resolve issues as quickly as possible.

Supplies in Burstwick, Keyingham, Halsham and Ottringham should now have been restored.

There are now 163 power cuts in Hull and East Yorkshire, according to Northern Powergrid's interactive map.
Northern Powergrid advised using a mobile phone if you have one and a battery-powered radio to keep up-to-date with the latest information.

The village of Burstwick seems to be facing the worst of the issues.
The company says it is also facing a 'major power cut' near Hessle Road.
Northern Powergrid says it is facing a major power cut near St Andrews Quay, affecting around 20 premises.
