Bangor Woman At SERC Into Digital Consultancy – Down News

Davina is Up-skilling to Mind her own Business and Yours
Davina Gordon has launched a digital marketing consultancy after studying at SERC.
They say if you want something done you should ask a busy person and that seems to be exactly the case for Davina Gordon, founder and director of Naissance Marketing, the Bangor-based digital marketing consultancy, who is keen to allay myths about social media management.
Davina (42) a graduate of Ulster University, recently completed the Women in Leadership programme. Funded through Ards and North Down Borough Council and delivered by South Eastern Regional College’s (SERC) Business Services team online over 6 weeks.
Commenting on her experience of the programme Davina said: “The Women in Leadership programme has been a win-win for me.
“Running your own business is not a nine to five job, so thankfully, the course structure aimed to minimise disruption to day-to-day business and home commitments.
“And it gave me the opportunity to progress my business in a role that that will help drive our local economy.”
Davina added: “My business is a digital marketing consultancy which involves everything from social media management, paid social and Google ads, email marketing, and copywriting to mentoring.
“I find the main challenge is a general lack of understanding of the amount of work that social media management entails.
“I love helping people and brands grow online through my expertise as well as working to help my clients get the recognition and success that they deserve.”
“As part of the Women in Leadership programme, I was delighted to gain from five hours one-to-one mentoring (face to face and online) – to address my business and individual needs and challenges.”
As well as upskilling herself, networking opportunities at the College introduced Davina to the pool of talent where she was able to recruit an intern, a graduate from the business degree programme.
“I would encourage any women living and working in the area to avail of this up-skilling opportunity,” said Davina.
Female business owners of small or micro enterprises, employees and entrepreneurs within the Ards and North Down Council area are invited to boost their skills, for a second intake, for the Women in Leadership programme.
