BJ's Wholesale Club plans Mt. Juliet location – Nashville Business … – The Business Journals

Massachusetts-based warehouse club chain BJ’s Wholesale Club recently paid $6.6 million for a 28-acre parcel of land in Mt. Juliet, according to Wilson County records.
City planning documents show the company has plans to open one of its first locations in Tennessee on the property at 200 Adams Lane. BJ’s Wholesale Club has 224 stores in 17 states. The Mt. Juliet location will also include a tire store and a six-pump gas station.
The plans call for a 104,353 square-foot store, which will be built as part of a larger mixed-use development called Providence Central.
Providence Central is a 175-acre master planned development along the I-40 corridor in Mt. Juliet which will feature a mix of residential, office and retail development, as well as 2.6 million square-feet of commercial space.
Mt. Juliet is one of the fastest-growing cities in Tennessee. The city was recently named as one of the top destinations for companies looking to relocate to the central United States, and one of the top 15 cities overall for relocation.
Factors including local and state tax rates, the availability and cost of land, and amenities are contributing to the growth. For residents looking to relocate, the city’s location — about 20 miles east of Nashville — make it an ideal place to buy a home. It’s proximity allows for a short commute, either for work or an evening downtown.
